Story time ❤️

Last weekend, I took my mum away for a little staycation. Over the past year, I’ve spent countless weekends either travelling or working on MINIM, and realised I hadn’t been spending nearly enough time with her. She deserved some time to unwind, and I wanted to show my appreciation for all her patience, love and unwavering support, especially throughout MINIM’s first year.

As part of our trip, I had arranged to drop off some supplies and components with the wonderful @chocolate_neal down south. To my surprise, he offered me the opportunity to assemble a watch that needed a replacement dial. I had long wanted to create something special for my mum, and what better opportunity than this?

I genuinely had the most wonderful hour putting together the very first MINIM watch assembled by yours truly. Sitting at the watchmaker’s bench, with my mum right beside me witnessing the fruits of my labour, was an incredibly humbling and heartwarming experience.

From day one, my vision for MINIM has been to create timepieces that capture emotion, passion and love. Watches that mean something beyond the sum of their components. What began as an unexpected opportunity became one of the most precious moments of my journey so far. To gift something I had assembled with my own hands to one of my greatest sources of inspiration, especially as my own birthday approaches, felt like the perfect way to commemorate MINIM’s first anniversary and give something back to the person who has given me so much.

There’s just something about watches, isn’t there? They’re more than objects that tell the time. They’re vessels for our memories, our stories and the people we hold dear. Sometimes, their greatest value lies not in the watch itself, but in the moments it carries.

I’m endlessly grateful for this opportunity and for all the people and friendships MINIM has brought into my life. Speaking of MINIM’s first anniversary, something very special is coming with @artisandhorlogerie. But for now, this one’s for you, Mum❤️. You don’t just deserve this gorgeous watch - the MN01 Amazonsite piece unique. You deserve the world.
