Reference points accumulate gradually through the cities we return to, the books we read, the histories we revisit, the journeys we take and the people we encounter. Over time, exposure becomes familiarity, and familiarity deepens into cultural fluency.

For Sosa, curiosity is not a constant pursuit of newness. It is knowing what expands your perspective, what brings you back to yourself and when to leave room for the unexpected.

The Richness of Reference, through the lens of Sosa Omorogbe, founder and creative director of @_the1897.

For Customer Service Week, we asked: Which brands in Nigeria get customer service right?

From banking and fintech to hospitality, beauty, logistics and events — these are the brands you said go the extra mile. 👏🏾

Because sometimes, it’s the small things that turn a customer into a loyal one.

Who would you add to the list? 👇🏾

Late, but right on time.
Celebrating a little late because I refuse to let a date dictate when I get to celebrate myself. No apologies, just pretty things and even prettier memories. 🥂
who exactly was rushing me? 💋

Not to make everything about me, but... look at me.
Romanticising my own existence because nobody is going to do it quite like me.

I hope I never become too grown to be excited about my own life.
Oh, I know.
Sexy has never really been the question. The question is how long it took me to realize just how fucking beautiful I am!

Me? obsessed with me? you noticed.

Self-obsessed.
A little too fascinated by the woman I’m becoming. I look at her and think, yeah... I’d choose her every time.

Birthday behavior, just on my own timeline.
a little older. a lot hotter. unfortunately for everyone else.

My favourite thing about this chapter is that I’m actually here for it.

I finally understand why I’m my own type. The face, the body, the attitude... I see the vision.

The Best of Lagos 🍽️✨ is back with Episode 7!

In this series, we ask Lagosians to share their go-to spots for some of their favourite meals across the city, because nobody knows Lagos food quite like Lagosians. 😌🔥

For this episode, we caught up with @obianuju000 and she definitely gave us some interesting recommendations. 👀🍴

Have you been to any of these spots? And do you agree with their picks?

Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know who you’d love to see featured in the next episode of Best of Lagos. 👇🏾✨
