For years, fast meant safe. Stay busy. Stay alert. Stay ready. Hustle. Grind. Never stop.

Now I’m learning that peace can feel unfamiliar. Not because something is wrong, but because nothing is.

Here’s the thing about slowing down:
It’s harder than it looks. Especially when you’ve lived on edge for so long. Your nervous system is wired for speed. Your body knows survival mode. So when you finally have space to breathe, it feels weird. It feels wrong. It feels like you’re missing something.

But you’re not.

Slowing down isn’t laziness. It’s healing. It’s reclaiming your life from burnout. It’s remembering that joy exists. That dancing to music in your kitchen matters. That smiling for no reason is resistance.

If you’re exhausted from running:
You don’t have to keep going at that pace. Your worth isn’t measured by your productivity. Rest is radical. Joy is necessary.
