If I lived in Nashville the staff of the Redheaded Stranger would be sick of my face. This Willie Nelson themed joint in East Nashville felt just like home. Not sure what I loved best about the place: the Prickly Pear margaritas, my giant chorizo & tater tot burrito, or hearing Kurt Vile’s ‘Rollin with the Flow” playing while I chowed down.

Nashville is a culinary destination, and we were not disappointed on our first night with cocktails at the James Beard winning Attaboy followed by dinner at the Appalachian inspired Audrey (Esquire magazine’s favorite restaurant of 2022!). Highlights included the sliced ham, butter with Cracklins, and the best salad of my life (the secret being the hot ham fat it gets dressed with at the table). The cornbread disappeared too quickly to be documented.

We hopped down to Nashville for 48 hours and checked into the fabulous Russell Hotel in East Nashville! The former Presbyterian church was built in 1904 and had tons of fun features like their church pew headboards and Photo Booth! It was the perfect home base for our brief visit!

Last night……🎃🖤🎄🎅🏻👑. So much spooky and so much royalty 🤣. I love all my creative friends who really bring it every year. Great Pumpkin lives on!
