We've been having so much fun relaunching Loosegroove with all of our amazing artists, it feels like we're building a home. We are so excited about the future but want to just take a second in gratitude for everything we've received and accomplished together in the last year. Thank you all for listening and supporting the label. We can't wait for 2022. ~Love Stone, Regan, & Billie Jean

I’m going to try to get through this as best I can. Rita Houston passed away a few hours ago at home in Valley Cottage, NY, with her wife Laura and her closest family. ⁣
⁣
Rita was 59, but I swear she was 200, or 15, depending on the way you look at it. Rita was an old soul who always seemed to know the right thing to do. Rita was a forever teenager who constantly giggled, laughed, and joked at the silliest things. ⁣
All the work things we did over the years seem so trivial now. ⁣
⁣
What resonates now is just time. Time together. Time driving around NYC in her car. Time at my house in Colorado. Time eating together. Time at the radio station. Time sleeping and dancing on a bus at Bonnaroo, in the secret artist tunnel under Red Rocks, and concerts everywhere. Time watching her bravely sing karaoke at my brother’s bar in Atlanta. Time on the top of Mt. Evans. Time with our wives prancing around NYC seeing all the Christmas decorations. Time hearing her talk about her life, her regrets, her dreams, and talking adoringly about Laura, her parents, and her family, all of whom she loved so much. ⁣
⁣
Time with the ones we love is all we ever have that matters in the end.⁣
⁣
There is so much to write about Rita, but so little to say at this moment. I wish I could share all the great things about her, but it seems so hollow. If you knew her, then you know. If you didn’t, then trust me. Rita was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. She was like a sister to me, and I have a feeling that so many people could say the exact same thing. ⁣
⁣
I’m listening to WFUV today and hearing all the beautiful words and songs in her memory. ⁣

Bakar! First US show @roughtradenyc . Such a talent with so many good songs that defy genre. And he walked across the balcony and then leaped onto stage. You don’t see shows like this everyday says @ritahoustonwfuv
