Major appreciation for @blackzinefair organizers @sojourners4justice Neta Bomani & Mariame Kaba and YAY for all in attendance @powerhouse_arts ! The zine format is so artfully subversive and deeply meaningful especially when its acquisition is made face to face!💫

It was a joy to share newly released second editions and old favorites alongside zines by Rachael Elliott @studiosenjeh Naomë Antoinette @naomeantoinette & Tyshaun Zollicoffer @tty.shaun . Big thanks to Naia Bautista @astr019 for her vital assistance. I also led a collaborative screenprinting workshop where participants designed, printed, and assembled a 16 page zine! ❤️ Everyone did an amazing job!!!❤️

I care for each step of making works by artists available and love seeing the impact of discovery and recognition in these beautiful opportunities. The positivity and love in the room was palpable and super energizing! More lil books from Du-Good Press coming soon! 🎈

TRANSITIONS

Part of a group show this past December exploring the weight of time and memory as it relates to life transitions signified through aging or ritual.

The Motherhood triptych uses childhood photos of my mom’s childhood in Germany and following the birth of my sister in Chicago. Bringing attention to the practice of looking after a doll as a young girl, to taking on the motherly role of an older sister, and to becoming a mother herself.
