Thankful for the friends and family that motivated me to be where I am today. I had no clue where I wanted to go a couple months before college started. After not getting many to none emails back I was starting to think maybe college isn’t for me. I felt lost until one day I got an email back from my now coach giving me the opportunity to run for USI. I would have never gotten this message if it wasn’t for my high school teammates convincing me to run a Mile for my last race instead of throwing in the towel and waiting for the end of my running career as things were grim and not progressing. This one decision would completely change the trajectory of my life as it lead to that email I got from my coach; a few minutes on a day that wouldn’t matter for a race no one would remember, although insignificant, this “minuscule insurmountable victory” allowed me to prolong my senior year season thus giving me the chance to get better before things ended. Thrusted through hope and determination with wonderful people I was blessed with a home at the University of Southern Indiana. Grateful for each and every positive/negative experience, every person met, every moment lived, because it guided me into the person I am today. Please acknowledge the potential for the small wins, I’d hate for you to miss out on the life you deserve.
To everyone I encountered or spent time with in the last 4 years, Thank you for giving me a story worth telling
