YEAR OF THE HORSE. 🐎🐴

Crazy how fast this year is moving. Summer is almost over. Anybody else feel it?

I’ve been thinking about success lately, especially as a photographer. #TuckerTookThat 📸

Do the photographers you follow make real money?

Maybe.

But do they make a real life?

I grew up in the Bahamas. Photography became my career. Golf became one of the great loves of my life, and caddying became another way I’m fortunate enough to make a living.

In this economy, I’m thankful for every stream.

I don’t have the biggest photography accounts. Maybe my pictures suck. Maybe my business skills suck. 😂 But put a camera in my hand and I know exactly what I want to do. I can still play golf at a decent level, make a living around the game, and teach other photographers what I know.

I don’t have the house on the golf course I thought I’d have by now either. But I’ve crossed other milestones, my health is decent, my body still moves, and I get to make, teach and earn doing things I genuinely love.

And I’m thankful for everyone who has ever bought a piece of jewelry, shirt, hat, print, booked a session, hired me, tipped me after a round or supported anything I’ve created.

Money matters. Bills are real. Business is real.

But money isn’t the only scoreboard.

You eventually have to decide what a successful life looks like for YOU, then go live it.

Year of the Horse.

Keep moving.

Gratitude is a must.

Photography has given me a life I once only imagined. Golf has introduced me to people I never would have met otherwise. I’m grateful for both.

Some golf courses impress you with immaculate conditions.

Others stay with you because they have character.

I made the drive from Miami to see what Hollywood Beach Golf Club had to offer and walked away with more than just a scorecard. I found a historic public course that asks you to think your way around the layout, mature trees that give it a classic South Florida feel, and a few photographs that reminded me why I love documenting this game.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to build a portfolio. Turns out I was documenting the life I was trying to build. Golf introduced me to incredible people, photography gave me a reason to remember them, and the commercial work keeps the lights on while the friendships keep me coming back. This is only a glimpse. The story is still being written.

This first month flew by. Horsepower. Year of the Horse. No time to waste.

Sat at tables and shared meals with people I truly respect. Stayed grounded through meditation; keeping myself sharp so I can show up fully for my clients. Moving without a map, trusting faith found within.

I’m still feeling out how I want to show up here, but I’m loving the carousel; stories have always been the point. I’ll keep sharing them, and I’ll be more active on the blog too.

Brick by brick, an empire in progress. Built through photography; sustained by gratitude; made possible by golf.

Let’s swing into the weekend real quick ⛳️🍽️
Food at the turn is cool, but I’ve been eating good lately (motivation to work-TF-out). Miami and Fort Lauderdale runs; Mastro’s Ocean Club for the lowkey vibe, great for the Heat game energy tonight if you aren’t sitting courtier side, strong Mastro’s Margaritas, and hands-down some of the best seafood right now. Still love Joe’s, but Mastro’s is cooking.

Fort Lauderdale; Ocean Prime didn’t have stone crabs (pain), but everything else was flawless. The grouper, calamari, salmon, steak, lobster mac… no misses.

Go Heat! 🔥 Still chasing 65. (I need to see @wagenberg or @sternwarning87 for some lessons real quick- also waiting for @callawaygolf new drop so @prestigegolf can get me fitted for the best shafts!)

Go play @miamilakesgolfclub, go make some birdies and enjoy the weekend.

Drop your favorite Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Palm Beach spots; I need a Palm Beach run soon. I am missing it out there.

A quick recap of events leading up to and after my birthday.

Mastro’s on November 4th was the kind of evening that reminds me how random golf brings good people into my life. A few weeks ago I met a gentleman at Eagle Trace after I one-putted eight greens. Turns out he runs Mastro’s Ocean Club. He told me to pull up sometime and he meant it. Seafood tower, lamb, wagyu samples, customized menu… everything was flawless.

The night before, I was at Rao’s—great food, better company. Then came my birthday round at Miami Lakes. 7:32 tee time, perfect weather, 38 front, 39 back for a 77. My day to 37, 7-7-7 energy.

The next morning I went back and shot one over par. Felt good to walk that course again. Yesterday I closed the fourth quarter with Corielle, shooting their new holiday campaign. Solid team, great energy.

Today I visited Stretch Space’s new location in Sunset Harbor. Maria’s doing an amazing job expanding. I’m a big believer in keeping the body supple; assisted stretching does wonders.

Now I’m at Joe’s with a cocktail in hand, cheers to post-birthday weekend. Feeling blessed, overwhelmed by all the love, gifts, and messages. I must have done something right up to 37… because I always wanted to feel like this. ⛳️✨

Enjoy The Ride…….Scottie’s win is proof that calm, patience, and purpose go a long way. We’re not just chasing scores; we’re playing for love, for joy, for life itself; golf is a lot like life.
