Seriously long and fun day yesterday. We went to El Rio for a couple hours and then ate lunch at a cute little park and found the Roadrunner!!

From there we headed up to Santa Rita lodge and enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders, drank coffee and made our way back to our main location where we had dinner and drinks.

@sarahtdubbwrites & @tucsonbirder stopped by to see us!

Today we are headed out again and it’s our last day here in Tucson for The flock and FlockTober! #birds

We’re watching hawks…what are YOU watching?! Our auction is officially open, so start placing your bids! Keep your eyes on your prizes until the auction closes on Thursday, October 15th, at 8:00 PM MDT during our anniversary celebration, Wings Across the Event. Even if you can’t make it to our event, you can still bid remotely on our silent auction items. Click the link in bio to start bidding.

Happy hiking season, for those who celebrate! Sabino Canyon is one of my favorite places to recharge.

Vote like you love nature, bc proposed national repeal of the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule would have significant local implications for the Coronado National Forest, threatening to roll back federal protections across its unique “Sky Islands” ecosystems

A full repeal would be a devastating reversal for several beloved backcountry and wilderness-adjacent zones, including:

• The Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains surrounding Tucson.
• The Chiricahua and Galiuro Mountains.
• The Santa Rita, Huachuca, and Pinaleño Mountains.
• The Arizona Scenic Trail

I wish everything wasn’t political, but unfortunately it is. Nothing is sacred right now. Please check your voter registration and know that your voice matters more than ever this year!

North America’s birds are vanishing faster than ever - and toxic pesticide-coated seeds are part of the reason why.

A new landmark Science study found that intensive pesticide use is one of the strongest predictors of accelerating bird decline. Neonicotinoid-coated seeds, used on nearly half of U.S. cropland, can poison birds directly and wipe out the insects they rely on for food.

Because of an EPA loophole, these pesticide-coated seeds have been sold for decades without proper testing or regulation. Center for Food Safety is fighting in court to close that loophole - but we need public pressure now.

Birds, bees, butterflies, and entire ecosystems are paying the price.

📢 Comment SEEDS to take action and demand EPA regulate neonic-coated seeds now!

My favorite heron 💙💚

Another green heron appreciation post because they are just goofy little guys!

Had a great day birding with @tucsonbirder @levinsfalconryadventures and @thrashersoneverything and got some great shots of herons doing heron things!

Do you like green herons?

Surprisingly, I did not get kicked from the Arizona birding discord for this.

[Also very amused that @tucsonbirder and I had the same idea]

When I picked up a birding camera 10 months ago I had no idea the community I was joining. So happy to get to know, bird with, and love soooo many wonderful birders across Utah, the states, and the world!

Also huge shout out to my birding bestie @anika.n.meyers I love you forever.

Flycatchers are coming through Phoenix right now. I know. I saw a Western! But, I don’t have a photo of one in town, so here’s a Western Flycatcher at Rose Canyon Lake on Mt. Lemmon. I was with my birding bestie @tucsonbirder who spotted it. I hope we all get to see flycatchers and get photos, because who knows with these guys. 😂 #flycatcher #mtlemmon #birdphotography #birdportrait

These birds deserve more than a day so they're getting an entire holiday weekend! Vulture and Condor pics/vids for everyone! Stories, reels, whatever. Tag and share away. If I tagged you and you don't have any pics/vids... it's still light out!

We’re bringing a taste of the desert home! Last year, in a special collaboration between Crooked Tooth Brewing and Friends of Saguaro National Park, we introduced a delicious mesquite amber. This year we’re bringing it back!

Join us Friday, 9/4, at 6pm for a first pour and to learn more about what @friendsofsaguaro does and how you can support them! See you here!
