Stunt Coordination is the art of partnership.

It’s collaborating with showrunners, writers, directors, DPs, storyboard artists, and the entire creative team to design action that serves story, character, and tone, all while navigating the real world limits of budget, schedule, and safety.

Today’s stunt teams aren’t just “the people who take the hits.” They operate as creative partners who interpret the page, protect the production, and deliver sequences that feel owned by the whole show.

Because the work spans so many disciplines…fights, vehicles, wires, fire, water, falls, ranking “best stunt” is inherently subjective.

The real conversation is about process:
How do you bring what’s written to life under pressure?
How do you foster chemistry and ownership so the team moves with efficiency and excellence?
How do you lead a department that feels invested in every sequence?

That’s the “BTS” reality of modern stunt coordination. Here a small look into our world of “Spider Noir”

From our latest short film, Toy Story: Reimagined. A side-by-side of our motion capture day using @xsensent Mocap suits at the amazing rigging facility @afstunts . @micahkarns and @tuhhny_vee brought Woody and Buzz to life with their performance and creativity in the fight choreography.

Toy Story: Reimagined is a fun “what if?” short film that asks one simple question: what would the iconic “Woody meets Buzz” scene look like if Buzz could actually fly… and shoot lasers?

This project was made with a lot of love for the original film and the characters we all grew up with. We had a blast reimagining this moment in a new way, while still trying to capture the humor and charm that made the original scene so memorable.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. Thanks for checking it out, and keep an eye out for our next project!

A look behind the process of developing the Adam Warlock vs. Drax sequence for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Every sequence begins with action design and fight choreography, laying the foundation for the story beats, character dynamics, and flow of the action. From there, motion capture and stunt animatics help bring those ideas into a visual format before moving into previsualization and ultimately the final film.
This compilation includes moments from rehearsals and mocap sessions used throughout the development process.
