Racing remote control cars is regarded by many as a childhood pastime, until you meet the community who do it competitively. For them it’s as technical as Formula 1, and they’ll happily spend a whole weekend proving it.

King of Clubs, Greg Cruttwell’s documentary about the RC racing scene, is live on YouTube tomorrow and completely free to watch.

⚡️THREE BIFA LONGLISTS! 🤘

Well, this is a bit bloody surreal.

We’re absolutely over the moon to share that ULTIMATE THUNDER has been longlisted for THREE British Independent Film Awards @bifa_film! 💙

🏆 Best Feature Documentary- sponsored by @intermission_film
🏆 Best Debut Director – Feature Documentary @ben.g.brown_
🏆 The Raindance Maverick Award - @raindancefilmfestival ✊

To have our rebellious film recognised and voted for alongside so many brilliant independent films is a massive honour. Genuinely means the world to us.

We’re in awe of the other filmmakers and directors on these longlists. There’s some absolutely incredible work being made, and to see our film mentioned alongside is pretty cool. Proper chuffed.

Ultimate Thunder is a truly independent, unfunded documentary, made through the sheer hard work, determination and questionable life choices of a very small but proper passionate team, and a community of unbelievable supporters.

And in many ways, that’s exactly what the film is about.

The band @ultimatethunderleeds are a tight-knit group of mates who make music on their own terms, do things their own way and come together to create something brilliant. No big budgets, no fancy machinery. Just friendship, creativity, a lot of graft and an unreasonable amount of noise.

We like to think we made the film in much the same spirit.

To see the film getting this kind of recognition is pretty special, not just for us as filmmakers, but for the band and everyone who’s helped bring their story to the screen.

A massive thank you to everyone who voted for the film, to BIFA for championing independent filmmaking, to all our supporters so far and to our tiny but mighty crew who put so much into making this happen.

From a metal shed on an industrial estate in Leeds to THREE BIFA longlistings.

Not bad for a bunch of noisy Yorkshire punks 🥹🤘

UP THE THUNDER! ⚡️💀🤘❤️

🩰 These Violent Delights

🎞️ I was delighted to be invited to the premiere of 'These Violent Delights' by the Scottish Ballet. The Scottish Ballet bring this retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the big screen in a vivid, unconventional, and vibrantly bold way.

🍿 Combining cinema with dance, co-directors Christopher Hampson and Oscar Sansom manage to bring Juliet's fever dream to life in an exhilarating, yet calm swirl of imaginative storytelling told through graceful yet powerful movement.

A vast, deep wilderness called the abyssal plain covers half of our planet, but we've only ever seen 1 percent of it.

"I made How Deep Is Your Love as a love song to the deep sea & a point of encounter between us humans and the animals who live there.

It scares me that deep sea mining could begin before scientists have had a chance to do enough studies to find out what lives there, let alone know what the effect of mining on the wider ocean and the rest of life on earth could be."

#ComédieFrançaise #TullStories #JoyOfCinema #MovieReview #Entertainment #Movies #Film #Cinema The movie poster for "Comédie Française" features a large ensemble cast standing and sitting together against a plain white background. The actors are dressed in a mix of modern casual attire, a firefighter uniform, and elaborate period costumes, including royal robes, a crown, and ruffled shirts. The film title "COMÉDIE FRANÇAISE" is prominently displayed in large, bold red text across the center, surrounded by critical review quotes, award festival logos, and a diagonal "HOTCHKA REVIEW" banner in the top left corner.
