🌈 UNLEARNING: Dismantling Racism Under the Rainbow
Screening + Conversation for white-identified LGBTQIA+ people

How do we move from good intentions to accountable action?

Join QAC Gallery and Spectrum Queer Media for an evening of two short videos, guided journaling, and community conversation hosted by Kin Folkz.

🎬 The Lie That Invented Racism — John Biewen
Explore how racial ideas were constructed—and what it takes to unlearn them.

🎬 The Urgency of Intersectionality — Kimberlé Crenshaw
Examine how racism and sexism intersect, and why Black women’s experiences must be seen.

Together, we’ll reflect on anti-Blackness within LGBTQIA+ communities, whose experiences are overlooked, and how we can turn learning into action.

Bring your curiosity and willingness to listen, reflect, and question familiar assumptions. No prior study required.

I’m excited to share that I’ve been elected to the San Francisco Pride Board of Directors for 2027–2030! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Thank you to all the SF Pride members who voted, it shows how much you care about the organization and its future. Thank you to @jupiterperaza for nominating me, @maceo.p and Jack @turnoutbayarea for supporting me over the past few months. Thanks @suzanne.ford and Chris for steering the ship in increasingly stormy weathers. I’ve long admired the work you do, and I’m grateful to now be a part of it. I’m also grateful to my fellow candidates, who shared such strong statements and brought inspiring and thoughtful perspectives to the entire process.
Like so many others, San Francisco Pride holds a special place in my life. I still remember coming to my first SF Pride as a young, closeted trans person and experiencing, for the first time, what it felt like to be surrounded by a huge community of people who were unapologetically themselves. What a full-circle moment it is to now be part of this organization during such a critical time in LGBTQ+ history.
I’m especially excited to bring my background in education, STEM, and nonprofit leadership to the Board, and to help ensure that SF Pride remains strong, sustainable, and responsive to the community it serves.
At a time when LGBTQ+ communities, trans people in particular, continue to face serious challenges, Pride remains a celebration in all its forms: coming together as a community, being visible, advocating for one another, celebrating who we are, and creating space for the next generation to do the same.
Also shoutout to my fellow newly elected board members @titaaida and Iowayna Pena. I’m looking forward to serving the next three years with all of you. ❤️
