🎬 DOCvillage 2026 | Aftermovie

From 5 to 9 October, eleven documentary filmmakers from different countries came together in Sittard for five days of documentary development, creative exchange and new connections.

Through workshops, coaching and practical assignments, participants explored their own cinematic voice and took the next steps in developing their documentary projects. Alongside the residency, they joined DOCDAYS 2026 for screenings and encounters with fellow filmmakers.

A big thank you to all participants, coaches and everyone who contributed to this year's edition!

Take a look back at DOCvillage 2026! 🎥

“How do you want AI to impact your creative work?”

That’s the question we asked creatives from across the Aurora region at the AI Creativity Catalyst incubator this past weekend.

They worked in teams with other creatives they had never met before. Over the weekend, they developed ideas ranging from AI-powered cooking mentors and business tools to creative networks, jumpers and apps that protect artists’ copyright.

Alongside developing their projects, participants questioned where AI fits into creative work, who stays in control, and what they’d rather it never touched.

They also put together a newspaper capturing the projects and conversations from the weekend. Swipe through to see what they came up with.

Thank you to every participant, and to @businessasema @lapinamk @universityoflapland @visualfxmagic @sorvaranger_utvikling @tvibit @barentscooperation @skellefteakommun

We’ll be continuing the conversation at the Arctic AI Summit, October 20–22. See you there!
