This time last year I was preparing to enter the Holoku Ball in CA., hosted by the Hawaii’s Daughters Guild of CA. My brother, who would’ve celebrated his 52nd birthday around that time, was a huge source of encouragement, understanding and confidence in my life. To honor his memory, I designed this holoku, and the King Kalakaua regalia that my nephew Kalama would’ve worn to accompany me at the ball.
COVID came, ball was cancelled, and this gown would wait to be completed.....
until now. This gown is now ready, in time for Braddah’s birthday, March 11th💜
