I’ve been here long enough to know that September is when the Vail Valley turns.

Comment GUIDE for my Vail Valley Autumn Guide.

The aspens start going gold, the mornings get crisp, and that late-afternoon light hits the mountains differently.

What I’m looking forward to this fall in the Vail Valley:

Driving Shrine Pass when the aspens are at their peak.

A Sunday wandering Vail Village when summer crowds have thinned out but patios are still open.

Hiking Lake Creek or Berrypicker surrounded by gold. Mid-September through early October is typically the sweet spot for fall color around Vail.

A pumpkin butternut latte from @twoarrowsvail.

And Oktoberfest—first in Beaver Creek, then two weekends in Vail.

As a Vail Valley real estate advisor, I’m in and out of Vail, Beaver Creek, Edwards and Cordillera all week, and this is the stretch of the year I’d pick if I were showing someone why people come here for the skiing... and end up staying for everything else.
