Still not over the weekend tbh, Rhythm Renegades x Fifth Element takeover was a serious success! Huge thanks to @ross_cremin_ the main man at @rhythm_renegades_perth for the trust in the curation of the line up and getting the green light for the void system in Henry’s. Thanks to the DJ’s who all came down and played immaculate sets start to finish, and the lads at @voiddio_ for powering our 12 hour takeover with their crystal clear system. Also a huge thanks to @sirhenrysnorthbridge for allowing us to host and the ongoing hospitality that they and all their staff provide us all with. Mostly though I’d like to thank all the dancers of the day, without you all we’d playing to an empty floor and I can certainly say that despite the abhorrent weather over the weekend you all braved the rain and packed us out as you do every weekend and that’s why we all do what we do.

It seems this will be the first of many Fifth Element events to come which I look forward to with a warmth in my heart I can’t quite describe.

We’re on track to releasing our first VA shortly which we will keep you all informed of, plus there may even be a merch drop since so many of you took an interest in the T-shirts and hoodies👀

Big love to everyone involved, I can’t get over how well Saturday went and we’ll be delivering bigger and better moving onwards.

First update is definitely a videographer at our events🤣

Not posted in a minute

Been busy with work, RPL, dj’ing and everything else in between. Been here for over a year and Perth is starting to feel like home.

Life has been pretty hectic with work up the mines which the longer I do the more brutal it seems at the time due to the heat, the flies, the prison style camps on some sites and the food that gives half the camp gastro🤣… but I realised on a later flight back to Perth from Telfer as we were landing and the sun was going down over the city skyline that Perth is home now.

Some people get really homesick and I totally understand it but for me, other than missing family, the dogs and all my mates from back home I couldn’t see myself living in Glasgow long term. The cliché “the lifestyle is better in Aus” hits the nail on the head, I dunno if it’s the extra vitamin D from the sun, the quality of the food, the laidback atmosphere in Perth, everyone else being so happy and positive all the time or the wages from working the mines but I’m far happier here than I’ve ever been back in Glasgow.

I’ve met some good mates, worked on some interesting projects at work, gained skills and qualifications I never would have considered, played all the bangers to my hearts content in Henry’s on Saturdays and travelled to places I never knew existed or would have previously dreamt of going to and as time goes on it just gets better and better. I’d say I’m definitely a better person all round for having made the move here and I’d push anyone who’s considering it to weigh up their options and give it a go.

Looking forward to the winter strangely enough… maybe because it’s not nearly 50 degrees every day up north🤣🤣 I like the rain, the mid 20’s temps and being able to stick a hoodie on, it reminds me of Glasgow I suppose.

The second half of this year is looking promising, hopefully in the coming weeks I get my RPL back and I can chase up some work relating to the qualification I’m after, got a holiday to Malta and possibly back home planned so there’s also that to look forward to.

Still living the dream as always 🌞🇦🇺

A niche of a noche for the renegades. Some techno will be loaded up. The night will start handy enough and the techno BPM’s will come out a bit later. 🎧🔊

Let’s take a look back at the past few times with @twotechy and his time with the Lab 🧪

A pioneer in our events and a strong backing to a lot of our shows, 2Techy has been part of the Lab community since the foundation event back in February! Fast forward 11 months and he’s back again to give us his groove and unique style on stage.

Someone who’s an absolute powerhouse on the stage and knows how to get a crowd moving and bopping to his music!

The man himself takes on the Little stiller stage for the first time in a few weeks so get down to see him work his magic on the decks!
