My dirty feet are the STAR in this month’s Texarkana Magazine 🤭🦶🏼

because alllllll my life, I have hated wearing shoes 🥴
I loveeeeee walking around barefoot.

SO, I wanted to write about walking through life barefoot.. metaphorically only, unfortunately, because apparently I do have to wear shoes to work????discriminatory.

we all need to give ourselves permission to get our feet a little dirty sometimes, though.

Try something.
Hate it.
Try something else.
Love it.
Change your mind.
Do it again later.
Prove yourself right, yeah, you REALLY didn’t like it the first time you did it..
Go back to how things were.
Bc who cares???
Surprise yourself!!

The version of me that existed five years ago doesn’t get to make every decision for the person I am becoming!!!

I tried getting a puppy… did not like that (loveee him tho)
I tried earrings, not for me!
I tried dressing differently, LOVE so far, 10/10 recommend!! love baggy jeans!

give yourself room to be super LOUD and super quiet, serious and ridiculous, responsible and spontaneous, faithful and curious, all at the same time.

life has been getting really fun as I’ve stopped performing it and instead, actually been LIVING in it!!!!!!

I have wasted too much time really really caring about what people think of me and it is SUPER exhausting.

here’s the thing, my love…. if I’m wrong, I’m not really that afraid of getting it wrong, sorry to tell you!!!!! but love you 😃😃

I’m walking barefoot.

YOU should walk barefoot.

Don’t take things so seriously.

it’s really not that serious, Victoria!

Get your feet REALLY dirty

& I hope and pray somewhere in these words, you see a little bit of yourself!!!

An Honor to be featured in the Roots section of @txkmag! Thank you @alanamorel and @txkmag! It was really fun to go down memory lane with your questions and interview. No matter how old I get or the stories I share with friends and family everything points back to Texarkana! I am forever grateful to my parents who raised me in this town and the teachers, mentors and friends who got me where I am today! Texarkana you will forever have my heart and always be Home! #Rootsarticle #Hometown #caseyroarkdesigns

as interviewed for the August issue of Texarkana Magazine, on newsstands today! You can also see the longer interview online at the link in my bio. I included one of my answers here that is only online in order to highlight two of my inspirations, my Uncle Son and Charla Harris. As the magazine tagline says, “Everyone is famous in their hometown!”

The hardest part about this entire wedding was…

Narrowing this post down to 37 photos.

1,600 memories fill this gallery with color and texture and moments. It was an absolute masterpiece of design work inside four different venues all over the city. Floor to ceiling draping on every interior wall of an entire country club was wildly just the beginning and the florals and lighting and catering and everything was somehow larger than life and still inviting.

The smiles and moments and memories and tears were absolutely everywhere. Two amazing families told stories of being intertwined for generations before these two found each other. Families friends with families in a city that feels like a small town and somehow two guys with cameras found ourselves in the very middle of it all.

The hardest part wasn’t the heat, the rain, the humidity, the logistics, the schedule (10+ pages single spaced), the expectation or the vision. The hardest part was knowing we could have stayed for ten more hours and never run out of moments with these people.
