Our keynote speaker arrived by train in Musselburgh for our first Global Learning Seminar at Queen Margaret University in Scotland.

Our student social media team kicked off the morning and talked about their client project with @txsthubprograms

Dr. Alexandra Dold—known as the “Doctor of Outlander”—shared how storytelling, history, and place come together.

Then our students stepped into the role of storyteller, asked questions and interviewed Dr. Dold.

Learn. Grow. Share.

That’s what education abroad is all about.

A week 1 recap from Italy, with Dr. Vega and her Italy Summer Hub cohort for the summer of 2026!

Here the students take a group picture taken at ‘Porta Portello” close to the University of Padova. And after a walk from their hotel, some down time to enjoy some authentic Italian Calzones. [Slide 1,2]

The students are at their classroom on the first day of classes learning about Statistics. [Slide 3]

Next the students are visited the Palazzo Bo where they learned about the history of the University of Padova and the important people that taught in such a prestigious university, such as Galileo Galilei. [Slide 4,5]

“Welcoming Talk and Reception” hosted by the University of Padova. [Slide 6]

Students then visited the University of Padova’s botanical gardens. [Slide 7]

Lastly this slide showed students during the second day of classes. [Slide 8]

Looking good bobcats! Did you bring back any souvenirs 👀!

Today our students had the opportunity to tour the radiotherapy department at Raigmore Hospital in The Highlands.☢️ This is the only center in The Highland region that offers radiation therapy as a treatment modality to cancer patients. Raigmore houses 2 TruBeam LINACs and 1 CT scanner. The students were able to go in and see the treatment vault, the department, and Maggie’s!
•
Maggie’s is a cancer support facility near Raigmore hospital that is available for cancer patients, friends and family members. This space was co-founded by a cancer patient who, while undergoing treatment, saw a need for “a home from home that’s designed to feel nothing like a hospital”.
•
Maggie’s offers classes for cancer patients on various topics such as, what to do after treatment, how to manage the physical and emotional toll cancer takes, and what to expect during treatment, as well as cancer support therapies of various kinds. Most importantly, Maggie’s offers a unique, on-site, and calm environment for patients to feel safe and cared for.
•
What an incredible initiative! We are so thankful for the staff for taking this time to show our students around the Raigmore facility, Maggie’s, Highlands and the gardens!
