POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Between horse shows, school events and other traveling, Carlee and I put a lot of miles under us for years.

She recently moved out and she and Tyler are seriously crushing life together. They have an enviable relationship and I am so proud of them. Still, I struggled to fill the silence she left behind.

Until recently.

I got a chance to see a song played live by an amazing singer-songwriter and from the first line, I was moved to tears. Although it was written for a very different reason, it still said everything I couldn’t put into words. The bittersweet, simultaneous loss and gain of watching someone you love step fully into their own life.

Now, it’s my go-to when I need to remember. And to smile at those memories.

So this one is for you Carlee. The words express exactly how I feel about the years and miles. I hope the watch is as worth it for you as the story we told is for me.

And to Jennifer Daniels … thanks for letting me do this with “Drive Round”. The appreciation I have for you is also tough to put into words.

If y’all haven’t heard her, fix that. 🎶.
