A year later and the “Infinite Coast” images are finally out in the wild as part of @supernaturalbc’s Iconic’s campaign! It is always such a treat to collaborate with the DBC crew, experience the wildest corners of this beautiful province we call home, and bank some serious BTS laughs with the @topofilms team. Massive thanks to @patrickmhenry for the scheduling and travel gymnastics both before and during production. Looking back, shooting that many locations in such a tight window feels completely unfathomable - but we sure did! @jordielepage & @ty.flyer - you two are absolute masters of your craft, an honor to share camera-holding duties with you. @jackiedsteel, so grateful for your brand vision, sense of adventure, and humor (including that last-minute bikeabout!).And of course, a huge shoutout to all the individuals, businesses, and organizations that helped us pull this off. From water taxis and floatplanes to the Arc’teryx crew jumping in on wardrobe, park permits, and accommodations - whoaaa! What a collective effort to bring this vision to life. A quick year in review … better late than never, right? Plenty of boats, planes, automobiles, helicopters, snowmobiles and other unique modes of travel in 2025. We had an exciting year working on projects coast to coast with a great crew, collaborators, brands, agencies and production partners. Untold backstory 🎥⚡️ On Sonic the Hedgehog, my camera was Sonic’s POV a gimbal mounted to an RC car with @Ty.Flyer driving it FPV. This was an ARRI show so everything had to stay image consistent… which meant I had to shoot at 3 frames per second. Here’s the fun part: on ARRI cameras at 3fps, there’s essentially no true live view. So I was forced to pan and tilt by feel, timing, and pure mind power basically operating blind, like a continuous timelapse, trying not to oversteer the lens in any direction. When played back at 24fps, every micro imperfection is exposed. This was highly complex shot with many moving parts, real risk, and the added pressure of operating off a stuttered view all demanding absolute smoothness. Hands down, the hardest concentration I’ve ever had behind a camera. The other part of the equation: Ty had to drive under a moving semi, time a near miss with a car, then both of us had to lock onto a motorcycle holding for a beat and then crash into the bushes for the cut point. We have a saying: “It’s easy…till it’s not.” This being one of those moments with everyone watching and the pressure on. This screenshot is exactly what I was operating from. Step into the arena. Taking the OOO off IG 🙃 - it’s been a minute! After a few busy months of incredibly fun and rewarding work, I finally got a moment to relish in all the new memories. Hello BTS! TBH, it made me a little sappy. When I chose to pursue this career, there was never a mold to follow (probably wouldn’t have chosen it if there was, lol) - it’s always been about a creative approach to business and meaningful relationships. And right now, I’m feeling on top of the world thanks to both new and longtime friendships this job has brought into my life. The team bond on projects is some kinda special.
