Meet the Coaches for OC Prep Hoops Evaluation Day

Super excited to be joined by 2 high level hoopers that know what it takes to get to the next level

Ty Holmquist was a 4-year varsity player at Sonora where he put together a spectacular high school career, scoring over 1000 points, picking up triple-doubles and back-to-back First Team All Freeway League in back to back seasons. Ty also runs his own training company, @trainingwith_ty

Jackson also put together a heck of a high school career at Laguna Hills High School. Jackson was named Golden West League POY back-to-back seasons and capped off his final season with a CIF Championship

All hoopers out there need to be comfortable in each of these game scenarios. If you want to go play at a high level, you cannot just be an isolation basketball player. You need to be able to play with the other guys on the court. You need to be able cut, drive to the basket, kick the ball out, set great screens, and be a great passer! Watch these three actions and work on these when you are working out! #basketball #reels

All respect to my guy @ty_holmquist1 , a true @dsparzhoops prodigy.

Just a small glimpse of the work we got in last week.

About a month ago, Tyler hit me up saying he wanted to make the push from LA to Sacramento just to train- and that’s exactly what we did.

That’s what it’s all about: showing up, putting in the work, and building a community that pushes each other to get better. During the middle school sessions, Tyler stuck around, helped coach, and poured into the younger athletes with advice and encouragement.

Next stop: Biola University. Excited to see what’s ahead for you, bro. Grateful I got to be a small part of the journey.

All love🤝

As we head into July and the Live Period, I wanted to give a quick shoutout to some players and programs that have consistently stood out throughout the spring and summer.

These athletes, coaches, and families have put in countless hours, traveled across the country, and competed against some of the best talent in the nation. Their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice have not gone unnoticed.

These selections are based solely on the games and events I’ve personally attended and covered. Southern California is loaded with talent, and there are plenty of deserving players who could be on this list as well.

Keep working. Keep improving. The job isn’t finished.
