10 years of type 1 diabetes💙

I was terrified giving myself that first insulin shot, unsure of how much life would change. From 2am low blood sugars to learning how to advocate for myself, from a Division I track and field athlete to a medical student, type 1 never held me back.

I’m grateful beyond words for my parents, my sister, and the friends who have supported me every step of the way, as they helped teach me that this diagnosis never defined me, it only strengthens me, and I never have or will be alone. What I once saw as a limitation became one of my biggest blessings. Happy Diaversary to meeeee🤩

Happy #worlddiabetesday to some of the strongest, most bad ass, weird, annoying, and crazy group of people I know. I’m so grateful for everyone that diabetes and @campkudzu has brought into my life. They really are lifelong friendships that could never be replaced or topped. This disease has really pushed me to my limits (this year especially) and I get so much joy and peace knowing I have a foundation of friends/family to fall back on. So I wanna say thank you to my pancreas for being a piece of trash and not doing its job and to all the other trashy pancreases in the world for creating this amazing bond. Love y’all with my whole heart💕 (there is so many of you to tag I can’t even think of them all but you know who you are 😉) ((yes I had to repost because it cropped my pictures weird lol))
