🌵THE DESERT OF INSECURITY God wants to change you in the land of self-sabatoge. 🎥 Catch the replay on YouTube! People end up in desert trials because of 3 things: 1. Their Own Decisions (Moses, Saul) 2. Other’s Decisions (Hagar, David, Elijah) 3. God’s Decision (Job, Israelites, John the Baptist Jesus) The principle for surviving in the wilderness is the same principle for succeeding in the garden: Depend on what God provides each day. Complaining Leads to Rebellion Against God’s Provision God’s People Gods Presence God’s Promise 1. Insecurity makes God’s provision feel inadequate. 2. Insecurity makes obedience feel unattainable. The Contradiction of Spiritual Insecurity “I’m going to Heaven.” But: “I don’t think I can live holy.” “I’m saved.” But: “I don’t think I can forgive.” “Jesus is Lord.” But: “I don’t think I can surrender.” “God has called me.” But: “I don’t think I can obey.” 3. Insecurity reaches for the safer compromise. Familiar misery can feel safer than unfamiliar freedom. “Give me the identity I already know rather than the identity I have to trust God to become.” 4. Insecurity stops feeling right when you feel the glory of God.  Reflection Questions Am I Interpreting my needs and obstacles through God’s provision, presence and promise? In what areas do I have contradicting insecurities between recognizing God’s ways and following them? What provisions in my life do I tend to feel are inadequate? Am I allowing my current circumstances to create more insecurity or am I using them to step further into a flourishing life of belonging?

🧑‍🏫 Recently, our staff had the opportunity to serve lunch to the staff of our neighborhood school, Riderwood Elementary. We believe in Principal Henry and her team of educators as they set out to form young hearts and minds. Together we say, THE FUTURE IS OUR PRIORITY! 🍎 The calling of teachers is the ministry of FORMATION. Simply investing knowledge is INFORMATION… but formation goes deeper and requires the investment of heart, patience and character. Will you join us in praying over their year? 🦝 Go Raccoons!
