Last year it was Fallinline. This year, the trail answers back. Echo 136 sends you 136 miles through the Kettle Moraine near Whitewater, WI on the Ice Age Trail, with a 55-hour cutoff and 11,148 feet of climbing to keep things honest. 10 aid stations along the way. No cowbells, no cups (bring your own vessel), and definitely no race day sign-ups. Golf claps only. Registration closes September 20. Head to ultrasignup.com to grab your spot before the trail runs out of patience. 😉 🏃🏽‍♀️ #UltraSignup #Echo136 #IceAgeTrail #kettlemorainestateforest

just a friendly reminder that your distance, pace & time really doesn’t matter 🫶🏻 the only thing that does matter is that you’re having fun & you’re proud of the effort you put in (coming from a girl who wanted to quit so many times during a 9 mile race, but made a promise to herself to improve her course time from last year … & with that, i’m proud of the effort i put in even though there was some moments that definitely were not fun) #running #trailrunning #beginnerrunner #runwisconsin #livelargeandtravel

Tahoe 200 Night 2, Day 3, Night 3, and start of Day 4. Night 2 was to start pacing duties with Sandra. But, it turns out her foot issues started to get worse. Rather than getting out of the aid station with some sunlight she was instructed to wait a few hours to let her feet dry out and reassess. Nikki and her pup Puck was incredible and I sat and watched and asked questions as she worked on runner after runner. We started into the night and traveled through 16 miles of what is some of the most difficult and unforgiving terrain I’ve experienced. And I was fresh. We continued on for a 7 and 16 mile section putting the pacing load to 39 miles over 18 hours. Sandra never swayed, even when we were on the “climb that would never end” in the heat of the day. Towards the end we were walking through an open field, there was a rumble in the background, the winds shifted and picked up, and a gray cloud appeared in the sky. Seconds later, large raindrops were coming down. Thunder was rolling, but far enough away to feel comfortable. The trail provided this day. I picked up an empty, flask (she used on the last section), snow at the top of a climb to cool down in ice bandanas, and a friend who shared her water filter when I ran out. After we made it back to the crew and aid, she got everything sorted and slept. We surprised her with an early birthday cake (for the frosting) and her and Drew headed out into the night. After the 90 minute drive back and being awake for almost 40 hours, I showered, struggled to take my contacts out, and the slept in a bed for 5 hours. I was woken up with a “are you ready to go?” at 6am to go crew. I couldn’t set my alarm correctly the night before. We got her ready to rock and sent her back out. I also ran into @bri_paigew and her crew, who looked awesome! It’s crazy how small this world is. Now, I’m working on eating enough, but fresher foods after the multiple breakfast burritos, burgers, and quesadillas yesterday. Plus, good coffee 😍 More thoughts about pacing and the mindset of 200s, through observation, to come. #tahoe200 #ultrarunning #trailrunning #mountains #pacing

Show up 🙌🏼💪🏻 a small but mighty group for Jones Rd run-ish club. Two of us haven’t ran since beginning of April so it was a great easy night to get back out there for a run/hike/walk. Jones Rd is different. It’s not a club to see who goes the fastest but who has the most fun 🥳 time on the feet is what matters, the company is an added bonus. #runclub #run #active #exercise #funwithfriends
