Let me share a quick story with an announcement…

I have sent over 100 job applications… and even lost count of the “Unfortunately” emails before now.
If you do not know me, you can check my bio to have an idea.

Between 2020 and 2021, I was on a relentless job search. I refreshed my inbox daily, hoping for some good news. Instead, all I got were rejection emails. Some employers did not even bother to respond.

I kept asking wondering why I never scaled the first stage, not to talk of reaching the interview stage. It was not until 2022 that I landed my first remote international role. Looking back, I realized I could have gotten there much sooner if I had applied the right way. My problem was not a skill mismatch but a wrong job search strategy and poorly written application documents.

I made all the common mistakes a handful of job seekers made by using the same CV for every job, ignoring how ATS works, writing generic cover letters and applying without a clear strategy.

Once I understood what worked, everything changed. Recruiters started reaching out, interview invites came in, and I was no longer just hoping for a job, I was actually getting real offers.

5 years down the line, I have decided to put everything I have learned so far into my first book, a detailed and practical guide to job search success. I wrote it with so much love, depth, and resources, I am so proud.🥹🥹
Never thought my first book would be such a resourceful tool.

If you are tired of sending applications with no response or still unable to get the job you are worth, then this book is for you. If you are a recent graduate still trying to navigate the job market, do not sleep on it! Even if you are trying to take a course, build your brand and portfolio, then this is a perfect way for you to start.

April is already exciting, and I cannot wait to share this with you all. Stay tuned and ready in this month of speed. 😌😎

Happy New Month!🤩🥳

In November last year, I received a call from NYSC Headquarters @nysc_ng, instructing me to report in full camp attire. Having completed my service, I wondered what could be the issue. Holding on to faith, I trusted that whatever the outcome, God was in control.

On arrival, I met fellow corps members, all there for the same reason. Soon, we were called up to meet the NYSC FCT State Coordinator, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka, where we were awarded for our outstanding contributions to the FCT.

I was recognized for my exceptional work at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria @secnigeria , an experience that taught me more than a decade in school ever could.

Key takeaways for recent graduates:

1. Never say NO to tasks: In today’s digital age, you can learn anything. Google and AI tools are your best friends.

2. Stay true to yourself: Don’t put on a facade to impress. Authenticity builds lasting trust.

3. Character matters most: Hard work can take you up, but only good character keeps you there.

Always be a part of the selected few. Be honest, work hard, and stay humble.

Delay isn't denial.

Let me share a story about my journey.
I started ATS classes in my 200level days with the goal to finish in a year plus. When I started, it seemed so inconvenient for me because that means I no longer have weekends to myself as I take classes in U.I from Mondays to Fridays. There were times when I just wanted to sleep or probably see a movie in my hostel but my phone will always ring at the time for lesson. It was my tutor calling. My first stage exam came and I aced it. Feeling great about the exam, I proceeded to the next.

The second one came and I had to write it in the most distressing time of my life. I was doing Teaching Practice, attending sch lectures and attending ATS classes with few writing jobs to take up here and there. I took the exam, passed 3 and had one reference. I felt so bad because I knew how much time and money went to taking those exams. I almost gave up. My parents and friends were very instrumental in encouraging me. I went on to retake the course with the reference and when the result came out, I aced it. My result came out the same day I was announced as the President-Elect of my department. I had just won the elections. Another great feat.

When I took my final exams, as I was in the hall, I told God I didn't want to come back to rewrite and lo and behold, God heard me.
Indeed I passed that stage and was due to be certified. But something happened after..
I was excited to proceed last year Decemeber but on paying for the induction, the portal had closed. This meant I would have to wait till July 2023 to be inducted instead of the initial December. I felt sad again because I believed my mates that we started together had all proceeded to the next stage.
I couldn't but wonder how long more I have to wait to be finally certified.

But on the 11th of July 2023, God did it.
I waited and it came. On this day, I became a certified associate member of the Accounting Technicians Scheme for West Africa (ATSWA).

This is me celebrating my big and small wins.

On this note, I present to you;
Adetoun Rachael Adepoju, AAT, ACA (In View).

Indeed, it is better late than never.

Congratulations Adetountimoni😘🥳
