59 Days Out Until New York City Marathon!

I’m so emotional as I think back on this journey which started out as a dream. Quite honestly it felt like an unattainable goal that I’d never reach.

Life has a way of presenting opportunities and when the opportunity came, I laced up and ran 24 hours on a treadmill with the loving support of my community to raise over $30,000.00 for Boston Children’s Hospital. This secured my spot in the NYC marathon.

I’ll forever be grateful for getting linked up with BCH as helping kids feels like my life’s mission is just starting to take flight. 🤍

Great things are possible with amazing people in your corner. 🙌🏻

This hasn’t always been easy, but we’re here and the work continues. THIS is what makes the journey worth it. The struggle is part of it. It’s where you learn, grow, and get better. I love it- not always but I never regret doing the hard work.

Thank you to everyone who’s believed in me 🤍

Today was about more than 13.1 miles. It was about facing something I’ve been afraid to do.

With on-and-off Achilles pain, I’ve avoided running inclines and Rickenbacker Causeway has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while. But I also know I can’t avoid the hard things if I want to be ready for the NYC Marathon. The little girl I’m running for faced the hard things head on. She inspired me to do the same. 🙌🏻

After months of putting in the work, today I finally felt confident enough to face that fear.

Miles 6 & 7: Rickenbacker Causeway.
And I did it. 💙💛

I finished my scheduled 13.1, took a rest… and then decided to run ONE more mile on tired legs. Because November 1st is going to ask me to keep going when my legs are tired too.

I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve put in to get here, and so grateful for the TEAM @usasportsmedicine @tygb @run0440 @_natematos_ working with me to get stronger and get me healthy to that start line.

And to the people who messaged me asking, “How did the Causeway go?” or simply telling me they were proud of me…..I can’t tell you how much that means. 🥹🙌🏻💛

There’s something really special about knowing people are rooting for you while you’re doing something that scares you.

One run at a time. One fear at a time. One step closer to November 1st. 🗽

This week was one of those weeks I’ll look back on for a long time.

I ran 27 miles, but the biggest takeaway had nothing to do with distance. Over the last few weeks, I honestly felt like I was losing my excitement for running. I thought I was burning out, but I realized it wasn’t running that I was missing it was the people. Getting back out there with friends before the sun came up reminded me that it’s not just what we do, it’s who we do it with.

That same theme showed up everywhere else this week. I spent time with men whose faith inspires me and challenges me to become a better man. I caught up with an old friend. I walked through a Porsche dealership not because I was buying one, but because I believe there’s value in putting yourself in environments that expand your vision. I watched my nephew get closer to taking his first steps, and those little moments reminded me how quickly life moves and how important it is to be present.

Then today, Anna shared something that perfectly summed up everything I’d been feeling. We talked about how life is really about stewarding what God has given us. Our faith. Our health. Our family. Our friendships. Our work. It’s easy to become obsessed with one and unintentionally neglect the others, but the goal isn’t balance every single day it’s faithfulness across the areas that matter most over time.

Looking back, this week wasn’t defined by a long run or checking off goals. It was defined by the people I spent it with, the conversations that challenged me, and the reminder that the richest life isn’t built by chasing one thing it’s built by intentionally investing in the things that matter most.

Grateful for another week of growing in my faith, my health, my relationships, and my purpose. On to the next.
