Fall Family Festa 2026

Started today with an inspection and a quick showing. Then I closed the laptop and drove to Prospect Hill Orchards.

We used to do fall at a different farm. Three years ago we switched to Prospect Hill, and now it’s ours. The kids fire apple cannons and make candy apples, and then there’s the apple tasting. Ludacrisp was the fan favorite this year, and we kept going back for more tastes. The adults were just as happy over at the tap room.

Not everyone can make it every year, and we feel those empty spots. We go anyway, because a tradition only stays alive if someone keeps showing up for it.

I’m in the middle of 12 weeks of intentional fun. For a long time, I treated fun as something you earn after the work is done. The work is never done. So today the fun went on the calendar first.

Side note: this farm has been run by the same family for over 200 years.

What’s the fall tradition your family refuses to let go of?

Paintball was never going to be my pick. People shooting at me on purpose? Not exactly my idea of a good time. 🥴

But I’m on a 12-week journey of intentional fun.

For a long time, life has been work and kids, and somewhere along the way I picked up this idea that fun was irresponsible. I’m officially working on retiring that one.

So I went.

And here’s what I figured out: I love these people because they can make just about anything fun. Apparently, even getting shot at. 😂

The best part was having my son out there with me. He had the time of his life, and getting to share the day with him made it even better.

Being on this team, there’s always a lot of fun mixed in with a lot of really hard work. It’s actually one of the reasons I chose it. We work hard for our clients, we push each other, and we make room for days like this too.

Huge thanks to @kei_themortgageguy Go Rascal and @allie_abbatiello Quintessential Mortgage Group for sponsoring the day, coming out to play, and apparently revealing that they’re both straight assassins. 😂 I’ll be checking over my shoulder at our next closing.

Senior year. Class of 2027.

I swear I blinked and somehow we went from that little boy heading off to kindergarten with his backpack and huge smile to this.

So many first days. So many versions of you. And now one last first day. You’ve been curious about computers and software since you were little enough that we didn’t think much of it. Turns out, it wasn’t a phase. You’ve always been willing to choose the harder path over the easy one, challenge yourself, and figure things out. And now that curiosity is becoming your direction: cybersecurity.

So incredibly proud of who you’ve become Tyler, and excited to see where this next chapter takes you. Senior year here we go. Class of 2027!

I hadn’t told him yet.

He walked into the office with me, saw my face on the sign for Agent of the Week, and just said “great job mom.”

Then he took a selfie with me in front of it.

These boys have been on a journey with me. My greatest joy is being their mom. They’re only little once and I refuse to miss this season. Happy Mother’s Day to every mom who’s all in.
