October training day for @ur7sacademy seniors and what a back drop on the front pitches at Taunton School!! Didn’t watch the whole session, but arrived for the end games. Great to see the boys progress. The future is bright. TT ollie kicks

I am by no means any sort of expert in this field, and I know there is still so much more for me to learn, which I’m excited to continue doing.

That said, I’ve come a long way from the trainer I was 2-3 years ago when it came to training children as if they were just smaller adults.

With these two, they’re edging closer to leaving school, so perhaps I train them slightly differently to how I would a child who is 2-5 years younger. However, a lot of the same principles still apply.

I do have @dr_knuckles_strengthcoach to thank for a lot of his help on this subject, and I also use a lot of @youngathletetraining work to help me continue improving in this area 🙏.

A few clips from the week.

As I alluded to in a previous post, we are always looking to hit a certain level of intensity, and while personal bests can’t be expected week in, week out (there are expectations 🙄🤣), it’s nice when they come about.

A few highlights include:

* My dad hitting 147kg on the trap bar.

* @becky.rodgers.9256 with a 35kg triple on the push press.

* @markone15 with a 132kg trap bar deadlift.

* @g85.jpg with a smooth 65kg single on the bench.

* @chloevalentine_xo hitting 102kg on the trap bar.

* @_sianwhite with a 120kg conventional deadlift.

And last but not least,

* @tyler_rockey with a 190kg deadlift.

Great effort everyone!

Some clients from this week.

With the bank holiday and a day off on Tuesday for my birthday, I’ve been playing catch up with clients, so social media has taken a bit of a back seat..

Great effort, everyone!

Please disregard all of the above if you’re a powerlifter, then yes, you absolutely do need to mimic your sport in the gym. 🤣.
