The 2026 World Climbing season has already been one for the books. From breakout performances and unexpected podiums to brutal finals, insane sends, and problems that seemed impossible until someone figured them out, we’ve seen it all. With the world’s best climbers pushing the limits at every stop, the season has delivered no shortage of surprises, rivalries, comebacks, and unforgettable moments. And somehow, there’s still plenty more climbing left. Here’s a look at the 2026 season so far. 🧗‍♂️🔥

Turns out chairs are harder than they look 🪑

Didn’t make finals so I decided to climb a chair at the @thenorthface @thenorthface_climb booth instead 😂 The chair won, and I have the bruises to prove it. (Don’t scroll to the last slide if you don’t want to see them.)

Shoutout to @peronacelaura for helping me get into the right headspace for this competition.

Plus a few snapshots from Innsbruck beyond the competition wall 🇦🇹

I can’t believe climbing is taking me to some of the most beautiful places in the world.

On Olympic & Paralympic Day, I’m feeling especially grateful to be part of this sport as para climbing prepares for its Paralympic debut at @LA28.

None of this would be possible without our team at @diversability holding down the fort. Thank you Erin, Arielle, and Katherine 🧡

Next up: Laval 🇫🇷 hopefully (after some recovery ❤️‍🩹) @worldclimbing @worldclimbingpara

Bit late to post, but still ready for the party. One of the best World Cup comps I've had the privilege to attend, participate and actually podium. 🥉
To explain the prep for the comp, would not have been a waste of time, cause I can say it shortly, there weren't any. Non existent.
And here I was crusing through the routes, hah. What a gem👌🏽
Im proud. That's IT. BYE. ❤️🤙🏽❤️🤙🏽
Amazing climbing gold performance @paula_dlcalle 🥇

Paraclimbing World Cup, Innsbruck, 🇦🇹 2026

With a large number of competitors, including many new faces and nations, as well as several strong newcomers, the World Cup in Innsbruck was once again a highlight. As always, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the event was superbly organised.

I’m very pleased that I was able to significantly improve my performance in the final. I was especially happy that I was able to really enjoy the final route. It was one of the best I have ever climbed — super varied, creatively set and exciting right up to second place.

It was an unforgettable event with all my teammates, trainers, and family! You are all incredible! Thank you.

A huge thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, route setters and fans for these unforgettable two days!

Waited a year for this 💎

Last year, over breakfast on one of my final days in Innsbruck, @peteparaclimber told me about @swarovski Crystal Worlds and showed me a photo of this giant face-shaped waterfall.

A year later, I found myself standing right in front of it.

The indoor exhibits featured collaborations with some of my favorite artists, and I loved that there was just as much to discover outside.

Thank you to my teammate @tylerblue22 for taking all of these photos (and patiently putting up with my “just one more picture” requests 😂).

World Climbing Para Series SLC 2026

Some things I’m proud of this year:
- Competition was really close! I was just a plus away from 5th place, and just an extra 1+ away from making finals.
- I did much better managing my type 1 diabetes and recognizing patterns in my blood sugar based on time of day, stress level, and food intake to keep it stable on the morning of the comp.
- I approached more people. I felt more comfortable stepping out of my team USA bubble. Saying hi doesn’t take much effort to welcome a new athlete or make a new friend.

Looking forward to taking what I learned to Innsbruck 🇦🇹 in just a few more weeks
