Your coach tells you that you need faster feet, more agility, that you’re too slow, or that you’re not explosive or powerful.

Then you need a training facility that actually trains those qualities. Not one that just makes you exhausted, tired, and conditions you into the ground.

You need to sprint. You need to jump. You need to move fast. You need to produce force and learn how to use it.

And more importantly, you need coaches who care, coach you through the process, and actually help you get better.

Don’t just train hard, train to actually get faster

Put your pitcher in a room full of guys throwing hard and he’s going to throw harder. That’s not hype. That’s what happens when the bar is set by the guy on the next mound.

Bullpens, velo days, every rep tracked. Come see it for yourself.

Here at Ideal Sports Performance, every Thursday we hit the hill for sprints!

Sprinting on an incline is a great way for our athletes to develop acceleration and power while reinforcing good body position and strong sprint mechanics with the various start positions.

Adding some races into the session brings out the competitive side of our athletes and gives them a chance to push each other to get better!

Athlete Spotlight: Tyler Couch

When Tyler first came to us his velo was topping 80MPH.

As you can see in the beginning clips his direction down the mound off towards a right handed batter and at front foot strike his arm is not on time.

After his assessment we sat down, came up with a plan of attack on how we were going to get him better. The plan was simple, get his direction linear to the plate and get his arm flipped up on time.

After 3 months of training Tyler has been up to 90MPH. We came up with the plan. Tyler put in the work and the results show!

Here at ISP you will get a tailored throwing program with drills that are specific to your goals and your needs!

Three months.

That’s the difference between the first assessment and the numbers you’re seeing here.

Tyler: 84 → 90
Bryar: 74 → 81
Nolan: 77 → 85
Eli: 78 → 82
Chase: 84 → 89.8
Jett: 78 → 81

Six pitchers. An average gain of 5.3 mph.

No gimmicks. No secret exercises.

Just good training, high-intent throwing and athletes consistently putting in the work.

We’ll show you a lot more of what went into these 90 days over the next few weeks.

This is what we’re building at ISP.

Tyler Couch has made some serious progress in 90 days. The biggest one: 80 → 90 MPH on the mound. At the same time, he’s gotten faster, more explosive, and added 13 pounds.

The goal wasn’t just to gain weight or get stronger in the weight room. It was to build physical qualities that actually show up when he throws.

90 days:
80 → 90 MPH mound velo
18.2 → 18.7 MPH max speed
1.38 → 1.31 acceleration
30.3 → 32.9” jump
186 → 199 lbs

Good 3 months of work from Tyler. A lot more room to keep building.

TRAINING ENVIRONMENT MATTERS!!

You need to be around a group of people who all share a coming goal. When you get in this environment you are able to compete and motivate one another. When you are training by yourself or in a one on one session it is almost impossible to get into that mindset of competing. That training environment is not IDEAL.

New PRs across the board 📈

Our athletes have continued to make progress in their 10–10 sprint, 15–10 sprint, and vertical jump numbers.

The goal isn’t just to train hard — it’s to actually get faster and more explosive over time. Testing gives us an objective way to see if the work we’re doing is transferring to the qualities we’re trying to develop.

PRs don’t happen by accident. They happen by showing up.

Every name on this board earned their spot. Faster 10-10 times. Higher verticals.

At ISP, we don’t chase motivation we chase measurable progress. Test. Train. Retest. Repeat.

Congratulations to every athlete who set a new personal record this block. The work is paying off, and we’re just getting started. 📈⚡️
