Couldn't be prouder of this legend -- pulled his IT band at mile 4 and through sheer grit completed another 22.2 miles -- sad for him for not being able to achieve his goal this time but still finished in under 4 hours (after spending 30 min in the medic tent!). And LOVE every member of the incredible support group who helped him across the finish line - GO JUICE -- GO JUICE BOX!!!

mermaid behavior >>> summer season roundup 🐚 a lil mix of work life, life life and alotta gratitude that there ain’t much different between the two for me 🧚🏻the last 6 months have been a w i l d ride— in deeply beautiful, and also profoundly confronting ways. but that’s the way it goes on earth ~ we get the night and the day, the blessings and the hardships, the beauty and the pain. it is the *mind* that registers one of the pairs of opposites as good and the other as bad— while the soul sees no such hierarchy. the soul does not get tangled up in the illusions of better or worse, ahead or behind. innately, the heart trusts the holy curriculum of life as it unfolds— and always right on time with the cosmic clock. the eyes that look outward simply cannot see from a vantage point high enough to recognize it ~all~ as sacred.

personally, i’ve been navigating themes of home, roots and belonging. i moved 10+ times between may 8th and september 8th, and a few times not ~exactly~ sure where i was going next. some days, my ego was been all kinds of shook up and spun out. full of doubt and indulging in fear of what if, what could be, and so on and so forth. and this is our practice as humans; to recognize the patterns of the mind without collapsing into them. to resource the nervous system and ground in the body. to invite, open to, and realize that exactly what’s happening ~is~ the path. one of the foundational buddhist teachings says, ‘all suffering arises from wanting things to be different than they are’.

amidst all the stress i experienced from not having stable housing- i also had a truly dreamy summer, full of love, fun, deep connection and beauty. i am grateful in a way words can’t touch to all the friends and family who opened their cottages, apartments and homes to me, to everyone who helped taking care of sophie when i was in a bind — and for the grace that students, friends and colleagues offered me in a turbulent season— i typically run ~5 minutes late to life, but this summer it was more like a steady 15 🩷 i’m on that cosmic clock 😇💫 outta room in this caption, but i am wishing you sweetness, ease and courage amidst it all 🌀
