Hey there! I wanted to connect on behalf of @gnarcyteam . We've got some seriously rad jewelry lined up, and I reckon you'd be the best match to rock our latest collection of tough accessories!

If you dig it, we'd love to hook you up with a trio of pieces on the house! Yup, you read that right – absolutely FREE!

Just shoot a DM over to our main account @gnarcyteam (if you dont see a DM button, just reply to any of their stories), and our guy Shawn will sort you out pronto! But hey, don't sleep on it – spots are filling up fast, and we'd hate for you to miss out on the action! Cheers, mate! 🤙

Throughout this campaign season, some people have tried to frame my candidacy as illegitimate. My struggles as a low-income Filipino-Black Bruin have been questioned — “Is he really low income? He has a nice jacket? He recently went on a trip.” — As if low-income folks are incapable of saving their money to treat themselves once in awhile.
Although these statements have hurt, I know that these sort of insinuations are not unheard to students of color who dare to challenge “the status quo,” or to organizers who get “too loud.” Yet, I remain resolute in my commitment towards addressing the egregious health disparities that Black, Brown, queer and many other historically marginalized communities experience. Because through a multitude of ways, our health is directly shaped, threatened, and impacted due to our various identities being constantly politicized.
I’ll be honest, though: I’m not a natural-born politician. My voice sometimes shakes when I have to speak. Sometimes my hands sweat when I’m on the debate stage. My campaign graphics aren’t professional — they’re made on Google Docs. And I often find student government overwhelming.
But being an advocate for our health and wellbeing isn’t about all that. And this campaign is very much not about me. It’s about the students who have to work 20+ hours a week to make ends meet. It’s about the food-insecure students that have to skip meals to cut down on costs. It’s about the students who are already struggling financially, but who will somehow need to pay $250 more for UC SHIP next year. It’a about the students who can’t afford basic necessities like menstrual hygiene products and dental care and who rely on the dispensaries across campus that BruinNecessities and I have helped establish.
Above everything, this campaign is about shedding light on health issues that have many times been overlooked by our student government. This campaign is a movement to reclaiming the narrative about how we address our students’ health as it relates to racism, policy, and neoliberal institutions.
It’s time for you. It’s time for Bruins. It’s time for all of us. ——
