We were invited to speak on stage at @fortunempw last week. One question that came up: if AI lets founders build with smaller teams, do they still need to raise capital? 🧐

My take: smaller teams don’t necessarily mean lower costs. Compute can still be a major expense.

Terri Burns, 26, the youngest partner in GV’s history and its first Black female partner, is launching Type Capital. The venture firm aims to break the trend of investors relying on 'heat' from others before committing to a deal.

"A lot of investors are driven by heat, versus being driven by true innovation," she told Fortune.

"[Founders are] talking to amazing investors, they're getting some interest, but no one's really willing to take the leap to anchor a deal unless they see that other people are involved. I want to move quickly and move efficiently and not over-index on heat."
