NEW FILM! — Here, Jessica Traynor reads from her incredibly powerful CARBON text, shot in various locations around Co. Wicklow in late summer 2025. For most of the last dozen or so books, in collaboration with Ruairi Conaty, I’ve made an effort to capture the essence of my projects through the making of a very short film. I think about all the books that have gone before us and what a benefit it would be to have something like a short film that captures their moment of production, the collaborators and the environment of their making. These films exist as a recording of the process and the moment. In this instance, it also acts as a vessel to capture the unnerving energy of the book. — Poet / essayist: @traynorjess Concept: @thesalvagepress Production and score: @ror_conaty Assistant: @ellen_martin_friel

From a project we developed last year. Geometric shapes drawn in Adobe Illustrator then cnc cut in wood by those wonderful fellas at Typehighdesign. Overprint tests are promising, the plan is to continue to develop shapes for this 16 line set and experiment with different compositions.

FUTURE POSITIVE – the collection Hold – Hear – Share – Plant – Sing – See – Savour Thank you for all the likes as I’ve gradually posted this set of prints. I hope they’ve left you feeling positive for the future & believing, like me that human goodness will prevail. Here they all are in their colourful glory. You can also see them in my website and if you are near Cambridge they will all be showing off in July weekends 1,3 & 4 as I open my workshop as part of @camopenstudios I’d love to see you and give you a little tour of my small part in the endangered art of letterpress. In the meantime Be Happy x #camopenstudios2025 #letterpress #futurepositive (This old XTC earworm has been in my head often during the thinking & printing)
