Announcing the first four Fight for Kindness Global Exhibitions! 🌐

The posters are ready to start their journey from Rome, Barcelona, Budapest to Plovdiv, to promote and celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13. Not because kindness matters more on one particular day, but because sometimes it helps to have a date on the calendar that reminds us to pause, notice, and celebrate it together. And, naturally, we’ll do it through typography.  A big thanks to @houseofluciebp @betterpress_roma @op34.gallery @nakobaev @denitza.tchakarova and @lci_barcelona for welcoming back the Fight for Kindness project with renewed enthusiam! 🌟  More mult-city exhibits to be announced soon. Selected partcipants will be informed individually in the coming days.

TypeParis2026

These six weeks at TypeParis were both challenging and deeply rewarding.
Learning type design in this environment has been one of the happiest and most meaningful experiences of my life. Everyone I met was passionate, generous, and deeply committed to their craft. I’m so proud to have shared this journey with all of them♡
Living in a new and unfamiliar environment wasn’t always easy, but so many people were there to help me along the way. I can’t thank you all enough for your kindness and support🌷

2ヶ月ほどパリに滞在して欧文書体の設計について学ぶTypeParisというプログラムに参加しました。

欧文書体の勉強をしに留学したいとずっと思っていて、会社の人々にも寛大に理解していただいてこの機会を得られたことを本当にありがたいなと思っています。
想像よりも大変だった滞在中は、いろんな人に助けてもらい励ましてもらいなんとか修了しました。
グラフィックデザイナーとして軸足は置きつつも、タイプデザインも自分の一部となるよう丁寧に作り続けます。

En mayo tuve la oportunidad de asistir a @typeparis una conferencia que reúne a referentes del diseño y la tipografía de todo el mundo. Experiencias como esta nos inspira a seguir creciendo y aportando nuevas ideas a Guayava.

Jean François Porchez, founder of Typofonderie and type director of ZeCraft, is a pioneer of digital typography and joins us at #TypeCon2026. He emphasises teamwork and launched TypeParis in 2015.Porchez worked as a type director at Dragon Rouge and Le Monde newspaper. He was President of the Association Typographique Internationale from 2004 to 2007 and founder and head of ECV Master Design & Typography from 2011 to 2019. He’s a board member of the Club des Directeurs Artistiques. Porchez has won the Prix Charles Peignot and numerous prizes for his typefaces. He was introduced to French Who’s Who in 2009 and published a monograph in 2014. He was knighted in the order of Arts and Letters.

What’s new in the #mekkablue scripts repository for @glyphsapp:

- Bézier Fixer replaces Tunnify, Tunnify 2.0 and Realign BCPs
- Adjust Image Alpha revamped
- Tackle Short Segments replaces both Enlarge and Remove Short Segments scripts

So, mostly unification of previously separate scripts, meaning smaller submenus. And adding UIs with more options and more convenience.

Tribute to Evert Bloemsma, typeset and printed at Megan O’Connell’s Salt & Cedar press in Paris. Evert was an admirer of French design, notably cars by Citroën (he subsequently owned a GSA, a CX Break and a BX), architecture by le Corbusier (he photographed Chandigarh for an exhibition) and typefaces by Roger Excoffon. The top-heavyness of Antique Olive was the inspirational source for his first typeface FF Balance.

The poster shows the works of the participants in the workshop, it was part of TypeParis Now 26, the yearly conference organised by Jean-François Porchez’ Typofonderie. My postcard (that’s what it’s going to be) is a combination of a tribute and evangelism in my own cause. Evert and I were very different, and I was quite surprised that he came up with his notes on FF DIN’s success after announcing that I should pay attention because he was about to write down something really important :-) The fascination of type and thinking of what and why it triggers people is something that we shared, so that’s why his short note remains special to me.

The typefaces (from top to bottom):
Vendôme – François Ganeau
Mistral – Roger Excoffon
Antique Olive – Roger Excoffon (with Vendôme italic)
Choc – Roger Excoffon (with Antique Olive)
Chambord – Marcel Olive & Roger Excoffon
According to his assistant José Mendoza, Excoffon had a strong influence on Vendôme as well. All typefaces were originally released for hand setting by Fonderie Olive. Note that Chambord was only available in the small size shown here. We’ll be back on this ;-)
