At the Band or Bust Finals we rapped about the judges and bands, sang about love and ubuntu, and gave a voice to the world's heartbreak.

We may not have taken home the win, but we definitely won some hearts.
We give thanks for listening.

🐢In Japan, the turtle (or kame) is a powerful symbol of longevity, good fortune, and financial prosperity. Rooted in centuries of folklore, Japanese culture features several types of turtle talismans designed to bring blessings, protect against evil spirits, and invite wealth.

Grateful for this love, ndiyabulela for these collaborations, and for the crows. Sometimes I imagine showing these videos to young Thabo, and I suspect he would simply stare in disbelief and whisper, “Nee, dit kan nie ek wees nie?”

For me there is something extremely liberating about being able to scream into a microphone, play music drenched in Rock, or vocalise on arabian scales. To just gooi!

As if, I'm expressing all those times I made myself small and too scared to show myself. In those moments, I feel free singing wildly, affirming, that you will hear me now.

Come liberate your voice with me in an opening of the voice session
