@tyschuett14 is a class of '27 kicker frim Merrill, Wisconsin. Ty has attended our camps in the past but wanted to dive into his FGs in a private session as well. He just recently started kicking off the ground and has made the transition look easy. Ty has come a long way in the last year with his kicking. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in his senior season this fall!

The weather was less than ideal in Green Bay for today's Spring Camp, but I'm proud of these athletes for pushing through the cold / rain and getting some great work in!

Training in poor weather is important for athletes because competition conditions are rarely perfect. This builds both physical adaptability and mental resilience.

Mental toughness — Training in rain, wind, cold, heat, or snow teaches you to stay focused and disciplined when uncomfortable. In competition, athletes who can handle adversity often perform better under pressure.

Competitive advantage — Many athletes mentally fold when conditions worsen. If you’ve practiced in bad weather, you’re less likely to panic or lose confidence when those situations present themselves in games.

Body awareness — It is important that athletes understand and are responsible for the playing surface they are on. For example, in wet or slippery conditions, a kicker may need to slow down their tempo and have a less aggressive plant into the ball.

Focus on fundamentals — The rain gave us an opportunity today to focus on the basics and fundamentals of being a consistent kicker.

The kickers who came out today will be more prepared when adverse conditions present themselves during the season next Fall!
