Tyson Delano has been putting in intentional work on finishing through contact, creating better setups out of the pick-and-roll, and tightening up his ball handling.

Love his attention to detail and commitment to understanding how to manipulate defenders, create advantages, and make the right reads.

Proud of his focus, consistency, and dedication to getting better every day! 🫡‼️

As we now prepare to enter the fall, let’s take a look at some more of the top prospects that emerged this summer with strong performances. These are some prospects that I observed that college coaches need to take a very hard look at in their respective classes.

The Phoenix United club program is on the rise in the state, and had an excellent summer performance. The program’s 15U team was very talented and was led by the play of Arcadia High School’s 6-foot rising sophomore guard Tyson Delano. The younger brother of Division-1 guard Vincent Delano, Tyson is a younger version with a similar knack for scoring the basketball at a high rate. He has a pure jump shot with a quick release. Also capable of playing as a combo-guard. Has a very bright future ahead. Loves the game and has excellent work ethic. - Anthony Ray / Arizona Preps

The Triple Threat Method 🎯

Quit over-dribbling. Learn how to create advantages, attack space, and make plays out of the triple threat.

Catch. Read. Attack.

Key 1️⃣: Use your jab step, tap step, and ball/body placement to shift the defender and get them off balance.

Move the defender before you make your move.

Kyrie is one of the best at using quick ball and body movements to create driving angles. Pay attention to his footwork he uses his feet to shift the defender, create separation, and open up space to attack.

Small movements. Better angles. More space. 🎯🏀

1v1 vs. Coach 🎯

Working on using rips, jabs, and ball/body movements to create angles and find ways to score.

Notice both players are playing basketball not just doing moves. They’re reading the defense, reacting, changing directions, playing off two feet, and finding different solutions to score.

Read. React. Create. Score. 🧠🏀

Key 2️⃣: Deception 👀

Great scorers don’t just beat defenders with speed they keep them guessing.

Use your ball and body movement to sell one direction, shift the defender, and create an angle to attack. The drop cross is a great example of using deception to create separation and get to your spot.

Sell the fake. Shift the defender. Attack the space. 🧠🏀

Kyrie is a wizard at scanning the floor and manipulating defenders. He’ll make you believe he’s relaxed, sell one direction with his ball and body movement, then explode the other way.

He loves using the drop cross to shift defenders, get them off balance, and create an angle to attack. 🎯🏀

Watch how Lleyton shifts the defender to one side and attacks the other 👀

Key #3: Get Low 🎯

Low man wins. Getting the ball low puts the defender in an uncomfortable position and gives you more leverage when it’s time to attack.

Watch how elite scorers drop their hips, get the ball below the defender’s hands, and explode out of that position.
Get low. Create leverage. Explode past the defender. 🧠🏀

Kyrie uses the ball to create space and leverage, forcing himself to get lower and explode quicker out of his rip-through.

He consistently gets underneath his defender giving him the advantage on that first step.
