Gallaudet University students are in France this summer for Clin d’Oeil, an international festival celebrating Deaf arts, language, and culture. As part of their theatre studies, students visited the Palais Garnier, one of the world’s most iconic performance venues. Exploring its grand staircases, ornate halls, and historic performance spaces offered a deeper understanding of the artistic traditions that continue to influence theatre today. Gallaudet students are spending four weeks in France through Education Abroad. 🇫🇷 Come with Gallaudet students up the Eiffel Tower! From our first glimpse of the tower to the views from above Paris, students spent the afternoon exploring one of France’s most iconic landmarks together. Along the way, we navigated accessibility services, rode elevators through the tower’s iron framework, and took in panoramic views of the city. Image Description: A video follows a group of Gallaudet students visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The reel opens with students walking toward the tower and reacting excitedly as it comes into view. The group approaches from the Trocadéro area, where the Eiffel Tower fills the background. The video then shows students entering through a priority access entrance and boarding elevators inside the tower. Scenes alternate between students signing, waiting in line, riding elevators through the iron structure, and looking out at Paris from higher levels. Views include the Seine River, city streets, and rooftops stretching across Paris. The reel ends with a group photo of students and staff smiling in front of the Eiffel Tower. On-screen text includes: “Priority access entrance,” “Come with us up the Eiffel Tower!,” “Up to the second level,” “Lots of lines, but there’s nowhere like it,” and “Up some more.”

Gallaudet students are spending four weeks in France through Education Abroad. First stop: the Paris Métro. 🇫🇷 Our Gallaudet students arrived in Paris and headed straight to their first theater rehearsal, beginning a month of language, performance, Deaf culture, and community-based global learning across France. The classroom looks a little different when it starts underground and ends on stage. 🎭✨ Image Description: Vertical video showing Gallaudet students descending on an escalator inside a Paris Métro station. Text on screen reads “Bienvenue en Paris 🇫🇷 / GALLAUDET BISON.” Students carry backpacks and luggage as they make their way through the station on the morning of their first theater rehearsal in Paris. The scene captures the excitement of arrival and the start of their study abroad experience in France.
