Collaboration #5: Valid!
Released: November 17, 2023

Hey look a collab not released in September! This one comes off of Mute's joint album with @tythetruth96 Truth the Messiah, and this one is definitely the darkest song we've released with some very personal lyrics and a lot of pent up emotions.

Similarly to Irresponsible, my contribution was writing and performing the metal outro to an otherwise hip-hop beat. We wanted to take what we had done with Irresponsible and distill it into something much more focused. Rather than an ethereal and pondering, Valid! Jumps right into the aggression almost as soon as the outro begins, again utilizing down tuned 7 strings and this time some clean arpeggiated chords overtop accompanied with punishing drums.

This song, I think, is the cream of the crop of Mute the Messiah and Magik Powers collaborations. The dark and pensive first half contrasts incredibly well with the angry and unleashed second half perfectly and gets right to the point. This song gets your head moving immediately and doesn't let up. Needless to say, I'm very proud of how this one came out.

Stay tuned next week for another trumpet collab, Fridaze!
