the year was 2006. the brand was 310 Motoring. founded by visionary Marc Laidler, they started out by customizing luxury cars for literally everyone in LA from Kobe & Shaq to Denzel & Jamie Foxx and had grown into a hot luxury shoe & lifestyle brand. you couldn’t turn on BET (the hottest channel on cable!) without seeing someone famous sporting 310 gear on 106 & Park or featuring the brand with the hottest whips in the latest music videos. the pitch? to market their lifestyle & shoe brand in a way that none of their competitors had even considered yet. we would create downloadable animations, wallpapers, ringtones, themes and mobile videos using their exclusive, branded celebrity & custom car content. the content would get North American marketing exposure (to start) through major wireless carriers and we would get revenues from the downloadable content. and with that a brand new, dynamic business model was born! 310 went on to create a custom line of sneakers with hip-hop legend The Game, which also proved to be really popular with mobile users. it literally was one of the coolest products & campaigns i’ve ever seen. the multi-year 310 content campaign went on to be a success for everyone involved - carriers loved the celebrity lifestyle factor and were eager to promote the 310 footwear in many print magazines, online ads and marketing campaigns. the 310 crew was easily one of the most enjoyable and professional that i’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. @marclaidler & @ReboM i can never thank you enough for giving some Canadian a shot and trusting me so much with your brand (and thinking outside the box!). kind & amazing from jump with creativity & positivity in abundance. you guys inspired me 🙏 big shoutout to the Greenberg family @joshvicmb too for your continued support when Skechers bought the brand (& thanks again for Vegas!). it gave us major credibility on the West Coast with other well-known guys like World Industries & Volcom and it meant the world to us. 🙏 @losangelesconfidential thanks again for the signed kicks! as you can see they’re still in mint condition 😎🤘 #310motoring #Skechers #TheGame #throwbackthursday
