on my way back from being OOO, where you must always take advantage of those long travel times to knock down that tbr 😤 (jk i really just slept and then spent time w my friends...but it’s the thought that counts, right?? 🙊🙈) my year always gets crazy busy going into the last few months, and i find my reading reflects that - i start gravitating towards tried and true formulas, like romantasy and cozy reads. 💗 No time for taking a gamble rn! what books do you like to bring on vacation? #happymeireviews #bookreview #bookrecommendations #fantasy #cozy

📦 ✨ PUBLISHER MAIL ✨ Q: Are there any 2027 releases on your radar? This one’s on mine! Thank you so much to @simonschusterau and @atriabooksaus for sending me a copy of A Curse Carved in Ink by @tzeyikoay along with these wonderful goodies! A Curse Carved in Ink is out 2 February 2027 in Australia. SYNOPSIS: A dazzling standalone romantasy debut steeped in Chinese vampire folklore and a delicious queer love triangle, for fans of She Who Became the Sun and Daughter of the Moon Goddess. All Zhenya has ever wanted is to escape her tiny village with her best friend Shuhua, but she must care for her grandmother, whose madness haunts their crumbling family bookstore. It is only when her grandmother dies that Zhenya discovers it was never madness, but a curse. One that has passed on to Zhenya, her only remaining descendant. The curse screams to be fed, and Zhenya is powerless to stop it when it forces her to kill Shuhua with her bare hands. As Zhenya grapples with Shuhua’s death, she’s confronted by two immortals: Kaijun, the broody judge of hell, and Yaori, the flirtatious goddess of death. Together, they drag Zhenya to Diyu – hell itself – in order to free Shuhua’s soul. There, Zhenya must undertake trials that will test her in unimaginable ways. To complicate things further, Zhenya finds herself torn between Kaijun and Yaori, grappling with feelings she doesn’t fully understand. But she can’t afford to be distracted, not when the only way to break the curse is to destroy it herself. Key words: queer books • lgbt+ stories • diverse reads • aussie bookstagram • australian bookstagrammer • avid reader • always reading • bookworm • book lover gifted

My latest read was A Curse Carved In Ink by @tzeyikoay—an epic adventure about curses and eternal love. When Zhenya discovers that the madness inflicting her grandmother is actually a murderous ancient curse that has now passed to her, she is taken to the Chinese underworld by Yaori, the goddess of death, and offered help from Kaijun, an immortal judge of hell. Together, the three of them must navigate the layers of Diyu so Zhenya can complete five dangerous trials in the hopes of breaking the curse and setting things right. But the longer Zhenya spends with Yaori and Kaijun, the more complicated and deep her feelings for both of them become, and the possibility of returning to the human world without them becomes another impossible trial Zhenya has to face. Beautifully written, this debut novel from the talented Tzeyi Koay is full of love, emotion, epic adventures, a feisty and flawed heroine, entertaining myths, food descriptions that will make you hungry, a fully realized world, fate-connected backstories, puzzle pieces that slot into place, and a good twist or two for good measure. It really has something for everyone, especially fans of mythical romantasy. Highly recommended. . . . #readingcommunity #acursecarvedinink #TzeyiKoay #simonandschusterau #netgalley

2027 RELEASES || 🖤 QOTD - what book are you most excited for in 2027? I can’t believe we’re at the pointy end of the year. 2026 has felt like both the longest and shortest year! It’s been a tough one, that’s for sure! My anxiety & the imposter syndrome seem to be at an all time high at the moment, but I’m so glad I have amazing books and worlds to get lost in. 2027 is already shaping up to be an amazing year and I can’t wait!
