The SF Black History Month Bike Ride was an unforgettable community ride from Downtown to the Bayview, celebrating Black history, culture, and community through the streets of San Francisco. 🚲✊🏾

In Part 3 of 3, we visit the new Southeast Community Center, India Basin Shoreline Park, the eDOT Model Block, Bayview Opera House, and local businesses along 3rd Street. We also explore Hunters Point and Heron’s Head Park before rolling down the Mendell multimodal corridor to the finish.

I was born and raised at 3rd and Newcomb, right here in the heart of Bayview. And I’ll never stop fighting to make sure our neighborhoods receive the same focus, urgency, and investment as every other part of San Francisco.

Today, the energy on this corner is electric because local small business owners chose to invest, take risks, and build community. They didn’t wait for someone else to create change—they rolled up their sleeves and helped build the neighborhoods we deserve.

That spirit has always defined Bayview, and it’s the foundation for everything that comes next.
