🚀🏆 What. A. Weekend. We sent 4 teams to the 2026 NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (2 human-powered rovers and 2 remote controlled rovers)— and they absolutely delivered. Beautiful weather, fierce competition, and a whole lot of engineering excellence on that lunar obstacle course. Here's what we came home with:
🥇 Overall 1st Place
🥉 Overall 3rd Place
🏅 Most Improved Performance
🏅 Project Review Award
💥 Crash & Burn Award
🌟 Highest finish in program history
UAH, Auburn, and Alabama A&M — so proud of every single team. This is what happens when you put great engineers on a lunar obstacle course. 🌕

Sweet home Alabama 🌿🚀 — stunning nature, non-stop sports, and a whole city called Rocket City. She fit right in.

She explored the U.S. Space & Rocket Center — the world's largest spaceflight museum and official visitor center for NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center — found space murals around every corner, and got a behind-the-scenes look at three student teams doing incredible things:

Charger Rocket Works is building a real high-powered rocket for NASA's Student Launch — one of this year's mission requirements is flying a habitat with 4 crew members. They went with Lego. She approved. 🧱🔥

ASTRA builds Mars rovers for the University Rover Challenge — autonomous navigation, soil sampling, the real deal. 🪐

Moon Buggy builds human-powered lunar rovers for NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge. Back-to-back champions 2023 & 2024. 🏆🌕

She wrapped up with Big Spring Park, Ditto Landing, Monte Sano, a UNA and UA campus visit (Roar Lions 🦁& Roll Tide 🐘), and college basketball with friends — because in Alabama, it's always all the sports. 🏀 Open pool in early March? Loved it. 😍 The pollen? Less so. 😅🌼
Fun fact: Alabama ranks 4th in the US for biodiversity. She saw the evidence firsthand.

Follow her along to watch her Nebraska adventures!! @nasa_nespacegrant
