Here’s a quick recap of this past week! The University of Akron celebrated its homecoming weekend; to prepare we learned signs related to football, family, and fun, but it didn’t stop there. ALSA members learned the National Anthem 🇺🇸and had the amazing opportunity to sign it with Officer Carl Deforest👮🏾‍♂️, the First Deaf Police Officer in Ohio, during the Homecoming Game! Thank you @ofc_deforest for your commitment to working with us we appreciate your support and to our ASLA members for your willingness to learn and participate to make this happen!

In honor of Alcohol Awareness Week ASLA participated in the @uakronzab Mocktails event, we put forth our best effort in representing Washington DC with our Gallaudet University themed mocktail Bison Berry Fizz🦬! Go Zips🦘🤟

Video Description: A video highlights a welcoming community event held across an indoor venue and a football field. Inside, attendees move through the event space, stopping at informational and vendor tables covered with displays and materials while talking with organizers and one another. People gather in small groups around tables for discussions or meetings, listening, sharing ideas, and smiling for the camera. The video then shifts outdoors, where participants assemble on the football field and take part in a coordinated group activity, moving and responding together. It concludes with a larger group gathered on the field, emphasizing the event’s collaborative, energetic, and community-focused atmosphere.

☢️ Chernobyl was a meltdown… but our mocktails were a breakthrough. 🧪🍊

ESC went RADIOACTIVE at Mocktails! From hazardous concoctions and caution tape to lab coats and questionable engineering decisions, our reactor was running at full capacity. ⚠️

Huge thanks to @uakronzab for hosting an explosive night! 💥

Our mocktails were a hit. Our reactor design? Not so much.
(No reactors were harmed in the making of these mocktails)
