Communication students at the UARK Rome Center, led by Veronica Mobley, recently visited @romatreradio, the official radio station of @uniromatre, where they explored the world of live broadcasting, content creation, and digital media.

From meeting the student team behind the station to stepping behind the microphone themselves, our students experienced firsthand what it takes to bring a radio program to life.

A huge thank you to Roma Tre Radio for welcoming our students and sharing their passion and expertise!

This summer, @andreahgrat, a Multimedia Journalism student, completed an internship with @radiobullets llets, where she created podcast episodes exploring life as an American in Rome and the cultural stories that make Italy unique.

From researching the history of Italian food culture to developing skills in journalism, podcast production, and independent storytelling, the experience gave her the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

"You're only in Rome for a short time. Say yes to new experiences—you'll grow in ways you never expected."

📍Rome, Italy 🇮🇹

Learning extends far beyond the classroom. During a previous University of Arkansas Service Learning experience in Rome, three students partnered with EWTN to help produce a feature from the Vatican. They conducted interviews with Vatican officials while gaining hands-on experience in scriptwriting, filming, lighting, and video editing, all while developing valuable intercultural communication skills.

Service learning creates opportunities for students to apply what they’re learning in meaningful, real-world settings while making connections that span cultures and industries.

As we close out this year’s Black History Month, we reflect with gratitude on the incredible moments shared here at the Arkansas Union. From the powerful energy of Shades of Ebony to the inspiring opening of the art exhibit in our 4th floor gallery, this month has been a meaningful celebration of culture, creativity, and community. (BIG shoutout to @uark_mc & @bsa_uark for putting on such great events and hosting!)

We are truly excited for all that’s ahead this year, but this month has been a blessing filled with connection, reflection, and pride. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring and celebrating Black excellence.
