I made a fun experiment and added ube powder to waffles! Funny enough, the colour was only inside and on some edges—it wasn't violet-lavender, more like pastel-blue/grey. Taste was very good though! 🥰

I slightly modified this recipe:

Ingredients:

Wheat flour – 1.5 cups
Eggs – 2
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Sparkling water – 1 cup
Oil – 1/4 cup
Baking powder – 1 level teaspoon
Pinch of salt

My modification: When adding the ube powder, I skipped the vanillin sugar (because I didn't have it at home 😂) and instead used a few drops of lemon olive oil — it added a lovely subtle aftertaste! 🤗

As I'm in my lavender era, this summer I tried something special: an ube latte 💜

Beyond the striking violet/lavender color, ube tastes mildly sweet with a nutty, vanilla-like flavor. I've been enjoying it for the past few weeks with coconut milk, which blends very well with it! It's caffeine-free, so I was choosing it each time I didn't want to drink more caffeine — otherwise, I've been drinking a lot of iced matcha too 🤗🥤

By the way, I also got a lavender-colored matcha kit 🤭💜

During hot summer days: what beverages kept you refreshed this season? ☀️

Ube Latte is a new trending coffee in the market. Tried this latte at “Mene”. I find it very average at 120₹. It was okay in taste. You can try but don’t expect anything special.
