Nigeria is suffering the problem of high unemployment rate among young people. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, ”Unemployment is one of the greatest problems facing Nigerian youths, with a root cause of "ineffective leadership" and this jobs gap puts millions of youths at risk of poverty, frustration, untimely death, and criminal activities such as theft, drug trafficking, oil-bunkering, terrorism among others”. following the recent happenings in the country ranging from the gruesome murder of #Hinyumoren and many others who also fell to the same prey, as well as the shocking data released in 2014, during the National Immigration Service Recruitment; 6.5 million Nigerian youths applied for a mere 4,000 jobs resulting in stampede and 16 death! We can categorically say that Nigeria needs a revamp especially in the area of job creation. It is time the government invest into the youth development sector. Lets' say that creating a good number of jobs in all the 36 states will be a hard nut to crack, but empowering these young people with the right knowledge, skills, and the necessary resources to creat jobs for themselves would be much better! Above all, i commend JDI for their works, especially for an initiative like the Leadership Exchange Programme, where taught and effective leaders who will restructure the naratives of the the country are raised. With this initiative, i believe by year 2030, Nigeria will be a country whose citizens are effective community builders. A better Nigeria i pray! #JDIat2 #Stand2change #Nigeria #Youths #Leadership #challenge
