This week I listened to a revered Samoan woman speak of the sacredness in wearing our culture, how it is not merely on us, but in us ❤️🙌🏾 Tatau and laei Samoa, carry our stories, our genealogy and the spirits of our ancestors. And wherever we go in the world, we carry that history with us.

The weight of the world feels heavy especially with the growing threats to our oceans, lands and cultures. Sacred waters that once thrived under protection are now opened to exploitation, driven by profit and greed. Though I don’t have all the words, one truth is clear… it is our duty, our responsibility, to protect what sustains us and to preserve what connects us. May we always wear our culture proudly and do all we can to fiercely protect it.
