More than a climb. A connection. @volcanoesnationalparkrwanda_ ⛰️

Today, Mount Sabyinyo reminded me that the mountain doesn't just test your legs—it introduces you to your tribe.
We started at the break of dawn, passing through the sacred grounds of the gorilla naming ceremony, watching the sun ignite the Virungas. What began as a group of individuals with a shared interest ended as a team of friends.

The journey had everything:
🌿 Pushing through the dense, whispering bamboo forests. 💧 The biting, refreshing cold of mountain streams on our skin. 🪱 A rare encounter with the giant earthworms that call these high altitudes home.

We didn't reach the final peak today due to a broken bridge, but the mountain taught us a different lesson: Safety and brotherhood come before the summit. Descending in the soft, calm mountain rain felt like a final "reset."

To the new friends I hiked with today: thank you for the energy, the laughter, and the pace. We didn’t conquer the highest tooth of the 'Old Man' today, but we conquered the day together.

Who’s ready for the rematch when the bridge is back?
